MINUTES
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Sullivan Township Board held at the Sullivan Township Hall,
July 7, 2015. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Mabrito at 6:30 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance.
PRESENT: Supervisor, Tony Mabrito; Clerk, Sue Buckner; Treasurer, Tammy Gillette; Trustee, Kevin Aney; Trustee, Mary Kotecki; one resident, and one guest of Sullivan Township. ABSENT: None
MINUTES: It was moved by Tammy Gillette, supported by Sue Buckner, to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of June 2, 2015 and the special meeting held June 9, 2015. Motion carried.
FINANCE: The Treasurer’s report on Township receipts of $49,207.74 for the period of June 1, 2015, through June 30, 2015, was presented by Treasurer, Tammy Gillette.
It was moved by Mary Kotecki, supported by Tammy Gillette, to pay bills of $60,080.55 as presented by Clerk, Sue Buckner. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Planning Commission: Minutes from the June 9, 2015 Meeting were reviewed by Commission Secretary, Eloise Jarka.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION: Holly Hughes, State Representative of the 91st District, touched on the balanced/approved budget for F/16, the Adverse Possession laws, Veterans legislation, the Sub-Teachers Bill, Webster House, the Veterans Job Fair, and increasing shipping from the Port of Muskegon. She also answered questions regarding DNR control of the bike path.
Cell towers and internet access in the township were discussed.
NEW BUSINESS: Fire Protection: Motion made by Tammy Gillette, supported by Sue Buckner, to adopt Resolution 2015-06, Millage Ballot Language for the November, 3, 2015 election. A roll call vote was taken, and the resolution was unanimously passed.
Election Inspectors for August 4, 2015 Election will be Bev Kersting, Margaret Vandervelde, Ellen Monte, Merlin McPheron, Linda Upson, Beth Sims, and Sue Buckner.
DISCUSSION: MTS Permits issued for the month of May, 2015, were reviewed. Issued were 6 electrical, 4 mechanical, and 2 plumbing. The township 10% rebate is $167.70.
Tammy Gillette gave a report regarding the township sponsored tire recycle event held on June 27. 1.260 tires were collected after much hard work. The board thanks Tammy for heading up this project, and all of the volunteers who participated.
The July Meeting of the Muskegon County Clerks Association, and the August meeting of the Muskegon County Treasurers Association, will be held at the township hall.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Sue Buckner, supported by Kevin Aney to adjourn. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
