Board Meeting Minutes, February 3, 2015

MINUTES

 

Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Sullivan Township Board held at the Sullivan Township Hall,

February 3, 2015.                                                                                                                                            The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Mabrito at 6:30 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance.

 

PRESENT:  Supervisor, Tony Mabrito; Clerk, Sue Buckner; Treasurer, Tammy Gillette; Trustee, Kevin Aney; Trustee, Mary Kotecki; and four residents.

            ABSENT:  None

 

MINUTES:  It was moved by Mary Kotecki, supported by Sue Buckner, to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of January 6, 2015.  Motion carried.

 

FINANCE:  The Treasurer’s report on Township receipts of $94,997.80for the period of January 1, 2015, through January 31, 2015, was presented by Treasurer, Tammy Gillette.

 

It was moved by Sue Buckner, supported by Kevin Aney, to pay bills of $10,095.36as presented by Clerk, Sue Buckner.  Motion carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Planning Commission: Secretary Eloise Jarka gave an overview of the meeting held January 12, 2015. 

 

4-H FAIRBOARD REPORT:  Brent Gillette gave an overview of the meeting held on January 20, 2015.

 

Supervisor Mabrito gave a report of the January 22nd meeting between County Administrator Mark Eisenbarth, County Attorney Doug Hughes, Sullivan Township Supervisor Tony Mabrito, Township Attorney Dave Bossenbrock and Sullivan Township Planning Commission Chairman Tom Anton.

 

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION:  Questions were raised regarding Conservation District property and township property, i.e., where and what were grant monies used, do we have keys to locked gates, etc.  Clerk Buckner to get with DNR Officer Dallas Goldberg to ask him to come to a meeting.

 

CORRESPONDENCE: Letter from the Federal Emergency Management Agency re: Flood Insurance RateMap was received for review.

 

Letter received from the Muskegon County Road Commission, with a copy of the policy adopted by the MCRC, regarding the disbursement of millage funds should the road millage proposal pass at the February 24 election.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Decision will be made at the March meeting regarding what, if any, township roads will be worked on this year.

  

NEW BUSINESS:  A review of the Fruitport Fire Dept. Annual Report was discussed, as well as the millage renewal for fire protection.  This special election will be held in November of this year.

 

Election Inspection workers for the February 24, 2015 election are: Ellen Monte, Diane Humphreys, Eloise Jarka, Sara Fuksa, Margaret Vandervelde, Beth Sims and Sue Buckner.

 

The Resident Appreciation Day will be held on Tuesday, February 24.  All residents are invited to stop in for refreshments.

 

            DISCUSSION: MTS:  The townships 10%, of permit fees, for permits issued in January is $84.80.

 

                                     

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Sue Buckner, supported by Tammy Gillette to adjourn.  Motion carried.
