Sullivan Township Board Meeting Agenda    March 7, 2023

The Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL: Present: Libby Spencer-Clerk, Tracey McGhan-Treasurer, Joe Kremm-Trustee, Jeremy Rios-Trustee.  Tony Mabrito-Supervisor was absent; 9 residents were present.

MINUTES:  It was moved by Tracey McGhan, supported by Joe Kremm, to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held.  Motion carried.

FINANCE:  The Treasurer’s report on all Township receipts of $95,018.70 for the period of January 1, 2023, to January 31, 2023, was presented by Treasurer Tracey McGhan.   It was moved by Joe Kremm, supported by Jeremy Rios, to pay bills of $19,680.90 as presented by Clerk Libby Spencer.  Motion carried.

REPORTS: Planning Commission – Jeremy Rios reported that the Pond Ordinance has a final Draft being written up for final approval.  The Shipping Container Ordinance will be developed this month.

Fresh Coast Planning Activity and the MTA activity was reviewed.

OLD BUSINESS: Sheringer Road Property 100ft ownership up-date: the recommendation by the township lawyer would be to divide and quick-claim the land in question among the 3 residents. After a roll call vote, this action was approved.

-Due to the inability of our township to acquire a Grant for the Sullivan Lake Park, we have sent two letters to Jon Bumstead asking him for assistance.

NEW BUSINESS: It was agreed to provide the Office Administrator with two Personal Paid Days versus Holiday Flex Days.

-An update was given on the Spaulding Road Abandonment ROW/Access driveway with the information provided by the Muskegon County Road Commission.

The Upstairs Hall Renovation has finally begun!  A print of the hall is posted in the Office entryway. Bonthuis Builders are also working on developing a covered ramp to ensure that everyone has access to the Hall.

-A revised FY2023-24 Township Budget was Reviewed and approved by the Board

-A Budget Amendment was approved to Transfer $250 to cover a hike in Insurance payments

– the Abandonment of Sheringer between Carr and Wolf Lake Roads has been tabled until next meeting due to the absence of the parties affected.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: A Resident suggested that we look into possibly adding a Generator to the township hall as part of the renovation to provide an emergency location for residents if needed.       -LED lighting inside and outside the Hall was also suggested.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Libby Spencer, supported by Joe Kremm to adjourn at 6:07pm.
