July Board Meeting Minutes 2024

Sullivan Township Board Meeting Agenda   July 2, 2024

MEETING: was called to order by Tony Mabrito at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL: Present: Tony Mabrito-Supervisor, Libby Spencer-Clerk, Tracey McGhan-Treasurer, Joe Kremm-Trustee, Jeremy Rios-Trustee.  Nine residents were also in attendance.

MINUTES:  It was moved by Joe Kremm supported by Jeremy Rios, to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held.  Motion carried.

FINANCE:  The Treasurer’s report on all Township receipts of $20,249 for the period of March 1, 2023, to March 31, 2023, was presented by Treasurer Tracey McGhan.  It was moved by Libby Spencer, supported by Tracey McGhan, to pay bills of $66,149 as presented by Clerk Libby Spencer.  Motion carried.

REPORTS: Planning Commission – Jeremy Rios reported that during the joint meeting and the public hearing in June that the Shipping Container Ordinance was discussed and finalized.

Michigan Township Services- Not Available

Fresh Coast Planning Activity were reviewed

OLD BUSINESS: Township Office Administrator has been filled.  Nicki McWilliams will be starting on Monday July 8th.

NEW BUSINESS: The Board reviewed the Shipping Container Ordinance and it passed with a roll call vote.

DISCUSSION/ANNOUNCMENTS: Tony asked MCRC if they would provide a price for a second brining to be completed on our dirt roads this year.  He also asked MCRC they would work with Sullivan, Fruitport, and our residents on improvements to Mt Garfield west of Maple Island.  This would entail applying a double chip and seal coating.  Clerk Spencer will be sending letters to the residents for their approval.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Michelle Hazekamp shared that the Muskegon County Fair will be hosting a Rodeo and a Demolition Derby at this year’s fair.   She is also going to provide us with a form for residents to report damage that may have occurred during last week’s storm.  We will post this on the website.

-A resident also asked if we renewed the 5-year Recreation Plan that was proposed in 2019.  This plan has expired and there no plan to renew it currently.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Libby Spencer supported by Tracey McGhan to adjourn at 5:55pm.  Motion carried.
