Sullivan Township Board Meeting Minutes August 8, 2024
MEETING: was called to order by Tony Mabrito at 5:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL: Present: Tony Mabrito-Supervisor, Libby Spencer-Clerk, Tracey McGhan-Treasurer, Joe Kremm-Trustee, Jeremy Rios-Trustee, 28 Residents also attended.
MINUTES: It was moved by Joe Kremm supported by Tracey McGhan to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held. Motion carried.
FINANCE: The Treasurer’s report on all Township receipts of $23,784 for the period of July 1 2024, to July 31, 2024, was presented by Treasurer Tracey McGhan. It was moved by Joe Kremm, supported by Tracey McGhan, to pay bills of $70,361 as presented by Clerk Libby Spencer. Motion carried.
REPORTS: Planning Commission – Jeremy Rios reported that the Solar Ordinance and the Accessory Building size discussions continued. They will have examples of the Solar Ordinance for next week’s meeting.
-Michigan Township Services and the Fresh Coast Planning Activities were also reviewed.
OLD BUSINESS: Master Plan Workshop hosted by Fresh Coast Planning will be held on August 14 @ 6:30pm in the upstairs hall. All residents of Sullivan Township are welcome to attend.
NEW BUSINESS: Supervisor Tony Mabrito met with our Forrester to discuss Timber Sale on the township property along Sternberg and Hilton Park Roads. The harvesting will occur this coming fall. -The residents on the North side of Mt Garfield were invited to discuss the possibility of putting a hard surface on their road. Contracts will be sent out on Monday to the 8 residents involved. Proceeding with this project will depend on the number of contracts that are signed and returned next week.
-An addition of a walking/path to provide access to the Sullivan Lake from the parking lot was discussed and a quote for the project was provided to the board. No vote was taken. This will be discussed again next month when a vote will be taken
– A quote for the Repaving of the walking path along with two new benches was also provided to the board. This will also be discussed and voted on next month.
DISCUSSION/ANNOUNCMENTS: A couple of residents on Holstad Road inquired on what it would take to have a hard surface added to their road. This was discussed at length the concern is that there are very few residents along this stretch of road to share the cost with the township.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Joe Kremm supported by Tony Mabrito to adjourn at 6:30 pm. Motion carried.
