PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the Township of Sullivan Public Hearing March 2nd, 2026, at 5:30 p.m

TOWNSHIP OF SULLIVAN

COUNTY OF MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN

 

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the Township of Sullivan will hold a public hearing on March 2nd, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., at the Sullivan Township Hall, 8138 Heights Ravenna Road, Ravenna, on a proposed Text Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Township of Sullivan.

Hearing

The principal provisions of the proposed amending ordinance can be summarized as follows:

  1. Definitions – I. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 2.10 to include the definition of “Industrial Equipment Repairs” that describes the work of maintaining, servicing, or repairing machinery and equipment
  2. Definitions – V. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 2.22 to amend the definition of “Vehicle Repair” to “Vehicle Repair Garages” to provide a more extensive definition of major repairs and minor repairs and to amend the definition of “Vehicle Service Station” to specify it does not include major vehicle repairs.
  3. Special Land Uses. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 10.03 to add section 10.03M “Major Vehicle or Minor Vehicle Repair Garages” and to add Section 10.03N to allow for similar uses that are not listed.
  4. Special Land Uses. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 11.03 to add section 11.03N “Major Vehicle or Minor Vehicle Repair Garages” and to add Section 11.03O to allow for similar uses that are not listed.
  5. Special Land Uses. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 12.03 to add section 12.03L “Industrial Equipment Repairs” and to add Section 12.03M “Major Vehicle and Minor Vehicle Repair Garages” and section 12.03N to allow for similar uses that are not listed, by the discretion of the Planning Commission and Township Board.
  6. Special Land Use Specific Requirements. The proposed ordinance would add Section 13.04OO for specific requirements for Major and Minor Vehicle Repair Garages. The proposed ordinance would also add Section 13.04PP for specific requirements for Industrial Equipment Repairs.

The proposed Zoning Text Amendment Ordinance is on file and may be examined at the offices of the Sullivan Township Clerk at the address above during Township office hours.  All interested persons may attend the public hearing and comment on the proposed ordinance.  Written comments concerning the ordinance may be submitted to the Township office, at the above-stated address, until 3:00 p.m. the day of the public hearing. This notice is posted in compliance with PA 267 of 1976 as amended (Open Meeting Act), MCLA 41.72a (2) (3) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Sullivan Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audiotapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the public hearing upon seven (7) days’ notice to Sullivan Township.  Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Township Clerk at the Sullivan Township Hall.
