Board Meeting Minutes, April 7, 2015

MINUTES

 

Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Sullivan Township Board held at the Sullivan Township Hall,

April 7, 2015. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Mabrito at 6:30p.m.with the pledge ofallegiance.

 

PRESENT:  Supervisor, Tony Mabrito; Clerk, Sue Buckner; Treasurer, Tammy Gillette; Trustee, Kevin Aney; Trustee, Mary Kotecki; and four residents.

            ABSENT: None

 

MINUTES:  It was moved by Sue Buckner, supported by Tammy Gillette, to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of March 3, 2015 and the special meeting held March 31, 2015.  Motion carried.

 

FINANCE:  The Treasurer’s report on Township receipts of $87,102.45 for the period of March 1, 2015, through March 31, 2015, was presented by Treasurer, Tammy Gillette.

 

It was moved by Sue Buckner, supported by Tammy Gillette, to pay bills of $59,467.83 as presented by Clerk, Sue Buckner.  Motion carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Planning Commission: Commission member Sue Buckner gave an overview of the March 10, 12 & 17, 2015 Meetings.

 

PARK COMITTEE: Mary Kotecki gave an overview of the meeting held March 24, 2015.   Park clean-upday is scheduled for April 21, at 6:00 p.m.

 

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION:  A Nichol Hts. Subdivision resident was updated on a previous complaint in his neighborhood. 

 

Brent Gillette will contact the local American Legion Chapter and the Veterans Administration regarding metal flag holders, and flags for the Memorial Day Service at the township cemetery.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:  Crockery Township:  A Resolution of Approval, to Support a Grant Application to continue the existing North Bank Trail from 130th Avenue into Nunica, was made by Tammy Gillette, supported by Sue Buckner.  Motion carried.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Township roads were discussed regarding repairs and maintenance.  This issue was tabled until the May meeting.

  

NEW BUSINESS:  Homestead Poverty Exemptions: Resolution made by Sue Buckner, supported by Tammy Gillette, to adopt a Uniform Application Procedure for Sullivan Township.  Motion carried.

 

Election Inspectors for the May 5, 2015 election are: Margaret Vandervelde, Merlin McPheron, Mike Smith, Bev Kersting, Mary Ann Drust, Beth Sims, and Sue Buckner.

 

            DISCUSSION:  MTS Permits issued for the Month of February were reviewed. 

 

Tammy Gillette gave an update on quotes received for new computers in the township office.  She also is working with Mark Hanson, of Muskegon County IT Dept., regarding wireless service for the township and  purchase of BS&A software upgrades to work with county systems.

 

 

 

Volunteers are needed to work for the tire recycle event on June 27, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., located at 4970 E. Apple Avenue.  Sullivan Township is responsible for workers on this date.  Please contact the township business office at 853-6900 to volunteer.

 

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Sue Buckner, supported by Tammy Gillette to adjourn.  Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
