Sullivan Township Board Meeting June 1, 2021

Meeting called to order by Tony Mabrito at 6:30pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL: Present: Tony Mabrito-Supervisor, Libby Spencer-Clerk, Tiffany Lindberry-Treasure,
Joe Kremm-Trustee, Tracey McGhan- Trustee

Residents: 7 residents attended
Special Guests: Julie Lovelace of Fresh Coast Planning

MINUTES: It was moved by Tracey , supported by Tiffany, to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held on May 6, 2021. Motion Carried.

FINANCE: The Treasurer’s report on Township Receipts of $42,017.30 for the period of May 1, 2021 through May 31, 2021 was presented by Treasure, Tiffany Lindberry.

It was moved by Joe, supported by Libby to pay the bills of $24,649.24 as presented by Clerk, Libby Spencer. Motion Carried.

REPORTS: Planning Commission Report – Christsen Land Division was approved
Special land permit for Charles Arends is still pending
Kremm private drive permit has been approved
Fairgrounds inspection on May 7 found minor concerns

Park Work Bee Report – Pavilion ceiling started another work bee is scheduled for June 11. Bark has been approved to spread around play area

CORRESPONDENCE:
-FCP has gathered information from surrounding townships to provide noise ordinance recommendations this will be discussed further at next weeks joint PC and Board meeting.

OLD BUSINESS:
-The repaving of Hilton Park Road per the recommendation of the MCRC from Sternberg to Hts Ravenna Road has been approved .

NEW BUSINESS:
-Tiffany Lindberry has turned in her resignation for the Treasurer position as of June 9, 2021.
-Tracey McGhan has applied for the Treasurer position and has been appointed by the board.
We will be accepting applications for the Trustee position to replace Tracey.
-Annual Audit will be June 7 & 8 as required.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
-The Merkins on Sullivan Rd south of Wilson are concerned that the road not being Brine d often enough and are concerned the excessive grating of the road, Tony will work with the MCRC to see if he can resolve the issue.
-Scott Nestell would like to see additional “No Engine Braking” signs installed on Maple Island Road near Wilson and Evanston to reduce the noise caused by the heavier traffic. John Carr requested the same for Hts Ravenna Rd at Ensley and Brooks Rd.
-Patty Dodge is concerned that the township should extend the winter tax payment due date from the 14th to the 28th. We will contact the County Treasurer to see if this option exists.
-Tracey McGhan has received calls concerning the heavy trucks that have been using Spaulding Rd. Could a seasonal weight limit or “No Trucks” sign be installed to decrease the wear of the new chip and seal road. We will be checking with the MCRC.

ADJOURNMENT: With no further business to come before the Board, it is moved by Libby Spencer,
supported by Joe Krem to adjourn the meeting at 7:20pm.
